NASA JPL- Pasadena, CA | Integration and Test Co-op (August 2018-December 2018)
In this role, I completed a variety of projects and assignments in support of the integration and testing of the Sample Caching System for the Mars 2020 Perseverance Rover. I executed the upgrade of an existing lab space for use as a thermal testing area for Mars 2020 hardware with stringent cleanliness requirements. This upgrade involved the modification and installation of new hardware on an existing thermal chamber, set up of a HEPA filtered clean room tent, rerouting of chamber gas lines, contamination control and planetary protection testing, upgrades to PPE for testing in a clean environment, installation of safety equipment, and implementation of safety measures. This project exposed me to many different facets within the design and development of a spacecraft from ESD safety to thermal testing. Outside of this project I also delivered on tasks such as ground safety equipment design, ground safety equipment proof testing, cabling verifications and more.
